How We Give
We believe giving should be simple, verifiable, and real. This page explains exactly how we calculate and send our monthly gift.
The 20% commitment
20% of every Signature 16oz sale (currently $10.80 per candle) is set aside for that month's featured mission. This applies to Signature 16oz purchases only — Discovery packs are not included. Gift cards are excluded until redeemed on a qualifying product.
How the mission is chosen
Each month, we select one nonprofit doing direct community work. We prioritize organizations with verifiable 501(c)(3) status, a track record of at least two years of operation, and a focus on direct community impact — housing, food security, workforce development, or similar. We do not accept payment or sponsorship to be featured. Starting Q2 2025, our community will be able to nominate organizations.
When gifts are sent
Gifts are aggregated across the calendar month and sent to the featured organization by the 5th business day of the following month. We send a single lump-sum payment via check or ACH transfer, accompanied by a letter explaining the source of the gift.
How we report
The total given and the recipient organization are published on our Mission page within 10 days of the gift being sent. We archive all past missions and amounts. We do not inflate or round figures — the number shown is the exact amount transferred.

Luminary Candle Co. is not a registered charity. These are gifts made as a business expense from our operating revenue — not tax-deductible charitable contributions. The 20% figure applies to the sale price of the Signature 16oz candle only and is a fixed commitment. We reserve the right to pause the program in the event of business disruption, and will communicate any changes publicly on this page.
