Our Story
We help those who are helping others.
Luminary was built on a simple belief: that the things we bring into our homes should mean something beyond the moment we light them.
The Why
Luminary Candle Co. was founded in Oklahoma with one question at its center: what if buying something beautiful could quietly do something good?
The founders weren't looking to start a candle company. They were looking at the organizations in their own community — the shelters, the food pantries, the job training programs — and noticing that the people running them were doing extraordinary work with very little. Not because the need wasn't there. Because the support wasn't.
The idea was straightforward. Build a product worth buying. Price it honestly. And give a meaningful portion of every sale to the organizations already doing the work — not as a marketing line, but as a structural commitment baked into how the business runs.
The candle was the right vehicle. It's something people buy for themselves and for others. It lives in the home. It creates a moment. And it's the kind of purchase where the story behind it actually matters to the person buying it.
So Luminary was born — hand-poured in Strawn, Texas, crafted with purpose, and built around a giving model that doesn't ask customers to donate. It just asks them to buy something they already wanted, and lets the rest follow.
Where It's Made
Hand-poured in Strawn, Texas.
Every Luminary candle is poured in small batches in Strawn, Texas — a small community where craft still means something. We don't use automated lines or mass production. Each candle is made by hand, inspected by hand, and shipped with care.
We use a soy wax blend for a cleaner, longer burn. Every fragrance oil is phthalate-free. Our wicks are cotton — no lead, no zinc. The glass vessels are designed to be reused long after the wax is gone.
Small batch isn't a marketing phrase for us. It's a constraint we chose because it keeps the quality where it needs to be.

Oklahoma Roots
Giving that means something.
Each month we interview one organization doing direct community work — housing, food security, job training, crisis support — and send them 20% of every Signature 16oz sale.
We don't partner with national organizations or large foundations. We look for the people already embedded in their communities, already doing the work, who could simply use more resources to do more of it.
The goal isn't to be a charity. It's to be a business that makes giving a natural consequence of buying something you love.
What We Stand For
No shortcuts
Soy wax. Phthalate-free fragrance. Cotton wicks. Reusable glass. Every material decision is made for quality and safety, not margin.
Giving as structure
20% of every Signature sale goes to a mission doing real work. Not when we feel like it. Not as a campaign. Built into how the business runs from day one.
Transparency always
We interview every organization before we partner with them. We publish every dollar publicly. We don't ask you to trust us — we show you the proof.
